Explanation of LMS features and functionalities are given in the overview paragraph of this article. According to the authors view, LMS is mainly used to communicate with learner and the content in order interact, report and operate. ( David, 2013). Author also states that teachers can assess through monitoring students progress and performance. Moreover, test score recording and the checking task completions can also be done by system.
This article provides in-depth explanation about advantages of LMS using, including distance learning, improved interaction between teachers and students, student- centered learning and improved access to educational recourses. There are several examples demonstrating authors view that LMS has functional, reusable materials with offers to curriculum creators many options to choose delivery method and to design their material. Second example says that Self-paced learning create opportunity for learners study and work autonomously from anywhere. The only thing should be the computer and the access to the internet. ( David, 2013). Students who are not able to attend traditional classes can have chance to participate in distance learning classroom settings.
LMS platforms can facilitate working in the group encouraging strong communication between teacher and learner where different interactive activities and learning styles can be met through social constructivism theory. Productive learning outcome achievement can be built through Social constructivism which emphasizes interaction, group working and significance of contact. (Nawaz, 2012)
Interaction with the environment can help people who actively create new information(Kanno, 2018) Social constructivism motivates learners to implement active methods like problem- solving and experiments. On the contrary, there are some disadvantages.like over- dependence on technology which can negatively
influence on student learning outcomes.
I agree to the opinions which are given above that LMS platforms can help to promote engaged and meaningful communication between student and teacher. A lot of different activities can be built by social constructivism with the help of of various learning styles. I agree that, social networks can create possibilities for enlarging the learning environment for collaborative learning, It also helps to increase participation and extend learning experience. of students. Furthermore, students can share information through up-to-date technologies like blogs, social networks (telegram, instagram..) in informal way. With the help of Collaborative and cooperative learning in social networks users can decrease the feeling of isolation and strengthen their relationships for other part of community.
I am absolutely agree that excessive use of technology can create negative consequences as over relience on technology and students learning outcomes.
To sum up all the ideas above, this article written in detail and explained thoroughly through examples and authors view. Advantages and disadvantages of LMS are balanced. this article gives recommendations to increase their students learning.
